We are delighted that Sapphire Spaces is part of the Consentino Elite Showroom programme which recognises studios dedicated to excellent quality and beautiful craftsmanship.
The Elite Showroom status means we are now one of a small number of businesses authorised to supply Dekton, Cosentino’s pioneering product that combines a sophisticated mixture of inorganic raw materials that are found in glass, porcelain and natural quartz.
Cosentino is a company that prides itself on innovation and development and Dekton by Cosentino does not disappoint. Dekton would not be possible without the special concept of ultra-compaction and it has taken the Group's research and development team more than five years of intensive work and investment to exclusively develop the unique manufacturing process. Using the technology of sintered particles (TSP) the production process simulates the metamorphic change that Mother Nature has applied over thousands of years when creating natural stone. With Dekton however the manufacturing time is reduced to just four hours and the result is a superior surface that has colour stability and low porosity as well as being highly resistant to heat, stains and scratches. Dekton withstands high temperatures without burning, scorching or cracking so hot saucepans and bakeware can be placed directly on the surface without damage.
Because Dekton is non-porous and does not contain resins it is chemical resistant and never needs to be sealed. Dekton naturally prevents liquids and gasses from penetrating the surface and even splashes of common household chemicals like bleach, drain cleaners and oven degreasers won’t harm it making Dekton the perfect option for a long-life work surface that is easy to clean.
With over 5 times the fracture strength of granite, Dekton can be installed in thinner sheets, including a super-slim 8mm option and can span greater areas allowing up to 12 inchs of unsupported overhang on countertops, islands and bartops.
The manufacturing process of Dekton uses up to 16 different decorative techniques which allow three-dimensional design models and offers endless design possibilities. It also allows excellent control of pigmentation giving better colour consistency from slab to slab that will not fade over time.
Dekton is more than just a product for kitchen worktops though. A completely new and innovative category of surface that can last a lifetime, Dekton is the perfect material for designers, architects, house builders and developers. It is fast becoming a favourite in the design and architectural sectors thanks to its resistance to UV rays and large formats which make it quick and easy to install. In addition to this the superior technical characteristics of Dekton allow designs to flow indoors and outdoors at all levels both horizontally and vertically.
Dekton is very resistant to staining, scratching, impact, abrasion, compression, extreme temperatures, heat, frost and thermal shock so it can be used for a variety of applications including bathroom floorings and coverings, swimming pools, exterior facades where Dekton covers the walls of any building like a layer of skin. Dekton’s high compressive strength and natural resistance to ice and thawing also make it an ideal material for walkways and driveways.
