Objects of Desire - The Wing Chair Hans Wegner

Objects of Desire

I've found the perfect book - and now I need the perfect chair to curl up in - and thankfully those clever folks at Sapphire Living Space have done all the hard work for me, says Interiors Editor CAROL BURNS.

Danish furniture designer, Hans J.Wegner was one of a small group of Danish furniture designers whose creations significantly contributed to the popularity of mid-century Danish design, a style that was all the rage with cosmopolitan Americans in the '50's and '60s.

The Eames Lounge Chair

Designed by Charles and Ray Eames, the Eames Lounge Chair has become an iconic must-have piece of furniture so much so that it is part of the permanent collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art. When Objects Work

Posted by on May 21st 2014 in General

William Morris famously observed that you should ‘have nothing in your houses which you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful’ and When Objects Work was founded on that principle.

Lafontaine has commissioned pieces by many renowned designers and architects from around the world...
