We are delighted to announce that our Managing Director, Mark Newbery, has been announced as a winner at the biggest awards event in the kitchen and bathroom industry, the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards.
Host Dara Ó Briain with winner Mark Newbery of Sapphire Spaces and KBSA Chairman Tina Riley
The award was won in the ‘Kitchen Designer of the Year – Up to £30,000’ category and was presented by the evening’s celebrity host, Dara Ó Briain, at a black tie gala dinner.
Mark says: “It is such an honour to be recognised for our designs at a national level and at such a prestigious industry event. In 2015 Sapphire Spaces was winner of ‘Bathroom Showroom of the Year’ and at the end of last year fellow director David Aspinall won another national award for one of his bathroom designs, I’m delighted to have kept up the pace for 2016!”
The winning design is for a former warehouse in Topsham that was purchased with a view to converting it in to a weekend bolt-hole for family and friends. The owner is himself a Director of an interior design group and gave us the opportunity to create something very different.
Jose Cortizo of Devon Stone said “As the Director of an interior design practice, Sapphire Spaces is the only company I could trust with my kitchen brief.”
Tim Wallace, editor of kbbreview, says: “We would like to extend our many congratulations to Mark on winning the Kitchen Designer of the Year – Up to £30,000 category award and wish him every success in the future. We received a record-breaking number of entrants this year and, as ever, the standard was extremely high, so to be named a winner is a major accomplishment”.
