To mark the occasion, over 100 VIP guests were invited to the showroom where they were treated to a champagne reception, live music and a cookery demonstration by Devon’s own celebrity chef Michael Caines.
Mark and Ross saw two years of meticulous planning come to fruition when Sapphire opened a year ago. Since then the business has captured a significant share of the luxury kitchen and bathroom market securing orders of more than £1m since launch.
“It’s been an amazing year, “ said Mark. “People told us we were crazy to start up a business like ours in the current economic climate but we did an awful lot of planning and research and always believed that we would succeed.”
Michael Caines praised Ross and Mark for having the courage to follow their dreams and said theirs was a “great achievement”.
The chef then went on to demonstrate three dishes from his new recipe book At Home With Michael Caines.
He also announced a new collaboration between Sapphire and Slateware, a new range of Welsh slate dining products designed by the chef himself.
“We are honored to be able to represent high quality ranges such as Michael’s Slateware, Spiral Cellars and furniture by Carl Hansen,” said Mark.
“The fact that Michael was able to join us personally was the icing on the cake as far as our birthday celebrations were concerned.
“It was also great to be able mark the occasion in the company of our loyal clients, to whom we owe our success so far.”
