Sapphire Celebrates 1st Birthday with Michael Caines

Sapphire Living Space, a 3,500sq ft luxury kitchen and bathroom showroom near Exeter, celebrated its first birthday in style.

VIP guests were treated to a champagne reception, live music and a cookery demonstration by Devon's own celebrity chef Michael Caines.

Owners Ross Pollard and Mark Newbery saw two years of meticulous planning come to fruition when Sapphire opened a year ago.

And their hard work paid off with the company exceeding all of its sales targets.

The business has captured a significant share of the luxury kitchen and bathroom market securing orders of more than £1m since launch.

One couple loved their products so much that they used Sapphire to kit out their holiday home...in Venice.

"It's been an amazing year," said Mark. "People told us we were crazy to start up a business like ours in the current economic climate but we did an awful lot of planning and research and always believed that we would succeed."

Michael Caines praised Ross and Mark for having the courage to follow their dreams and said theirs was a "great achievement".

The chef then went onto demonstrate three dishes from his new recipe book At Home With Michael Caines.

He also announced a new collaboration between Sapphire and Slateware, a new range of Welsh slate dining products designed by the chef himself.

"We are honoured to be able to represent high quality ranges such as Michael's Slateware, Spiral Cellars and furniture by Carl Hansen," said Mark.

"The fact that Michael was able to join us personally was the icing on the cake as far as our birthday celebration were concerned.”

"It was also great to be able to mark the occasion in the company of our loyal clients, to whom we owe our success so far."
